Estimator
Description
- Reviews specification information and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Organizes bid components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Performs takeoffs on blueprints (i.e., circuiting and scaling drawings, counting devices and equipment, etc).
- Consults with clients, vendors, foremen/superintendents, and project managers to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Finalizes and follows up on completed bids.
- Attends job site walk throughs as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training and two years of electrical estimating experience; or
- Five years of electrical estimating experience; or
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience as determined by management.
