Electrical Designer

This position’s responsibilities include: meeting with clients and the project team to develop electrical system project requirements; designing electrical power, lighting, fire alarm and other special systems associated with military, aviation, industrial and/or commercial buildings; preparing plans and specifications of electrical systems for bidding and construction; and providing construction administration support and services during the construction phase of a project. Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have an associate degree (or higher) in electrical design or a related field AND at least two to twelve years of relevant experience (buildings related)

The ideal candidate will be familiar with any/all of the following: power design and lighting software; familiarity with the process involved in new and/or renovation building projects; knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit; familiarity with NEC and NFPA standards and codes as well as building and fire codes; and word processing, and spreadsheet computer programs. The ideal candidate will also be self-motivated; be able to handle a fast-paced position; have ability to work well under pressure; be goal- and deadline oriented; possess good writing and listening skills; have good organizational and communication skills; have good problem-solving ability; and can take and carry out instructions.
